The Skills Coaching trials aim to help new Job Seeker Allowance and people on Inactive Benefit such as incapacity benefit, income support, lone parents. People need to be adults (20+) and want to obtain the skills necessary to gain sustained employment; through one to one support with a trained skills coach.
Timescale
The second phase for new trials started 1st July 2006 and will continue until 31st March 2008.
What is a Skills Coach?
Skills Coaches use coaching and mentoring methods and techniques that will enable the client to identify goals, aspirations, explore options and choices and decisions about their future learning path to skills development and sustainable employment. They provide on-going support to customers throughout their ‘journey’ with the skills coaching programme.
